A former celebrity publicist, the new millennium has seen Stephens-El deliver addresses from Miami to New York, including a Victoria’s Secret Regional Conference, the U.S. Mint, the Atlanta Constitution Book Fair, Tom Joyner Take a Loved One To the Doctor Day health panel, The Harlem Book Fair, Independent Authors Book Expo 2017, Sisters R Us Circle of Survivors Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Program, and numerous media appearances (CBS-3, NBC-10, Fox News), radio (iHeart Media). She co-authored the 2016 Decisive Women: Designing Decisions in 5 Minutes or Less and other titles and is the recipient of numerous civic and literary awards.

Jeanette Stephens-El is a breast cancer thriver since 2003. The recipient of Barack Obama’s Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteer service, she has served as Fundraising Chair, Race for the Cure Chair and Community Ambassador to Susan G. Komen for the Cure–Philadelphia, and in 2017 she was tapped to lead The Oprah Magazine Team for the Avon39 Walk Against Breast Cancer in Boston. She served as a facilitator at a National Breast Cancer Disparities Conference in Washington, D.C., a follow-up to the 2016 SGK Breast Cancer Disparities Roundtable in Philadelphia, for which she served as Moderator. The American Association for Cancer Research named her as ambassador for its indoor cycling event, Spintensity200 and she danced in a Survivors In Step competition/fundraiser. She has spent countless hours educating under-served populations about the importance of early detection, clinical trials, genetic testing, health and wellness, and living a full and joyful life. She wrote two books under her pen name Raining Deer about her breast cancer journey: BCV: Rites of Passage for Breast Cancer Victors; and 10 Tips to Avoid Breast Cancer (Unless It's in the Genes). Jeanette lost brothers to prostate and lung cancer, and a sister to breast cancer. She has two other sisters who are also breast cancer survivors, making it four of her mothers five daughters to be diagnosed with the disease. She believes the best warrior is an informed warrior, armed with courage.
